Girl
Figurine
Plaster, sisal and wire, mounted on wood.

This sculpture is about innocence and surrender.
Created during the first lockdown in Sydney, I wanted to express a moment of peace and acceptance in a young girl offering herself to life.
The use of sisal, wire and plaster allowed me to capture a raw, “unfinished” look and the sense she is still forming, still in a process of becoming before our eyes. Everything is still possible.
